I am getting ready to go back to the strip Friday. I have bought slicks(E/T Street 31x 14.50) and on the road it has made a HUGE difference. I mounted them on another set of wheels (plain steel) and it is back to leaving 2 black marks but I am going to put a mini spool in it anyway for the trip to the strip. It still spins but I hope at the strip and with some adjusting of air preasure I can get a good time out of it. I also like the gearing with the taller tires and might go to a 3.70 for the street.
I am waiting on final gear selection until I can get some good passes and see what RPM it is turning at the lights.
I am also planing on finishing the NOS system.I might need a little extra in 2nd or 3rd gearafter it hooks up.Wiring is all that is left, but I have let it go until I could put what it had to the ground.
I am off this week and it has started out with rain again. Last time I took off it rained all week to flood status. I will be working in the garage so as long as it quits by Friday I don't care. They are calling for rain for several days.

Rat we got another Luv we use mostly just for the strip even though it is street legal. it dose only have a small block but just a 10 inch wide tire. we went 9.23 @ 145.6 on et streets in the 1/4 mile. it hooks hard but still spins out of the hole a bit . the tires will turn over about 3 times getting off the line. this is with a 175 hp shot of gas leaving with 1100 lbs of bottle pressure too. sounds like to me you just got to get a hold of the chassis adjustment on the rear and you will be on a ride. My truck gets driven daily and driven to the track . It goes 12.90's @ 105 mph and like I said is driven every day.

I agree on the adjustment part but it is going to be a trial and error process. I did get the chunk out today and the hub is broke that hooks the clutches to the axle , so I might as well had a regular chunk last time. The clutches are fine and I have another hub but I am just going to go ahead with the mini spool for now and know it will be sending the power to both wheels.

It is a good little trip from Memphis but I will be at the Brainerd Drag stip just outside Chattanooga at the Georgia line this Friday Aug 8th. It is looking like rain all week but clear for the weekend. Hope to see ya there!
I have been to several cruise ins and put several hundred more miles on this truck over the past few weeks and keep in mind it is a driver not a all out drag truck but still should turn a respectable time if I can hook up.
If you need the exit numbers let me know.

Thats about it on the miles. It was about 400 miles to St. Jude from my house . I made a couple of one night trips there and back several years ago when we took a car to a friend who was there. That is the only time I have been to Memphis and it was late at night both times but I remember it's a long drive.

Hey KT1328, I am from Macon, I run at Reynolds in Pro, I have a puke yellow primer Luv in Pro ET, it runs low 7's and it is street legal, no nitrous I don't like killing my parts.

What color truck do you have, I will look for you.

Nope I don't do the cruise stuff, I am building a Datsun 240Z for the street right now for the street, I am trying to keep it mild. I tend to go over kill every time, and they turn out to not be very streetable.

It rained all weekend did not go to the track.

OK just got in from the strip.. Happy as hell!!!! My little 40 over 350 went 12.74 @ 106.67 in the Qtr. after driving it to the track. which is approx 40 miles. I changed the pinion angle and got it to leave a bit harder without spinning as much. Still spin a little but think with a bit more practice I can get that problem sloved. ( I think I still had the air pressure to low ).
VERY happy with my 700 dollar 12.74 sec. engine YEAAAAA !!!!

Spanky
