I have a plate that looks like a real one made at a rod run several years ago and it was on it until I registered it and started driving it.
But this is the real Mcoy.

2762 us small block guys should be about 160lbs lighter if my figures are correct. does yours still have the heater box and wiper assembly? i figure i could shed a few pounds that way.

No heater, wipers, dash , roll bar, inner fenders and just a shell of a bed.I have been looking at heater boxes but I want A/C also and may be going with a aftermarket unit. As for wipers I am looking at street rod type again limited space and I just look at the weather before I drive it for now. I am sort of in the research and development stages.
Everything is going to have to come back apart later for final work on frame and firewall. For now I am putting miles on it and seeing if there is anything that needs changing before final painting of frame.
Roll bar will depend on ET in the spring.I am not sure if I am going to go to the trouble but probably will. Jegs offers one so it's not a big deal.
As rough as this truck is it still gets noticed and as I said before I am NOT building a race truck I am building a DRIVER and I am sure it will be over 3000 lbs. before it is over but thet is still less than a lot of vehicles.
Air conditioning is a must for me. I want to ride on hot days with the windows up.Several companys make very compact unit so again it is a matter of saving the bucks for it.
I started this truck last year around Aug.and it was complete with a 350 and turbo 400 and have put over 800 miles on the big block in the last few months.
Also planning on power windows(some neat kits are out there now)and maybe a digital dash setup.Check out some street rod magazines for ideas.
I consider the hard part is over it is running and dependable.I am going to put the fuse box and relays behind the seat. And get the dash put in and keep adding options as fund allow.
And last but not least just remember If I add to much weight with all the old man,fat boy comfort options a 427,454 or 502 is a bolt in swap.
502/502hp would be nice!
