well I blew up the trans in my elky need suggestions on companies that build them.
I am looking at b&m, tci, and mikes transmissions in ca I guess they do some good work from what I have heard so far. some of the nmca guys run mikes.
I was considering the tci street fighter or the super strret fighter
B&m not to sure about I haven`t heard anything about them
art carr builds some awesome ones just out of my price range from what I have seen they start at 2800.00
hughes is a local company here I have had problems and so have some of my friends. one guy lost a 1/2 second when he installed a hughes trans and converter. hughes said there was nothing wrong with it. He borrowed a friends tranny that was a diiferent brand and the car gained it`s time back. So i won`t even consider them.
so if you or had any experience good or bad I would like to here it.

I have a Griner turbo 400 that I bought used for my drag truck. If you use a tranny brake they have the best one. A lot of tranny companies use Griner brakes in their trannys.

TCI is local to me and they do pretty good work, I have a BTE stuff in mine and I really like their stuff, we build our own. Also heard good things about Abruzzi...

I have never run a trans brake but have thought about it. Can you a tranny equiped with a trans brake on the street? I really don`t know how they even work I was told they lock first and reverse together.

You can, but you will have to manually shift up and down each time you stop and start. The automatic shift function is no more.

That doesn`t bother me, It seems like all the trans brake ads are reverse pattern. Do they make them with the normal pattern. I could manage the reverse but if my wife ever drove the car{ not like that would ever happen} I could see her really screwing up.

Glide brakes are forward pattern, all others I have seen are reverse, that I can remember...
