One thought is are the they hardened push rods and are thre rockers? They sell hardened and non hardened push rods you have to make sure they match. guide plates also if you are running them non hardened guide plates hardened push rods. One of them will get eaten I think its the guideplates because they are softer but maybe wrong on that.
another thing it could be is if you are running stock style rockers maybe the cam is bigger than what they can handle. The slot on the rocker maybe bottoming on the rocker stud some. when that happens the cam is trying to shove th push rod through the bottom of the rocker. each time it hits it weakens that area causing it to fail.

you may also want to look at coil bind and make sure you don`t have a problem there as well. the spring could be bottoming and the push rod is still trying to push the valve open further

the push rods will break if you use a carpet knife and kinda pry on the oil holes and i know they should not be that soft, yes they are hardened chromoly push rods with harland sharp roller rockers , there is no coil bind i checked that when assembling the motor the lash on the rockers is 26/26 .when i take the bottom end apart i will have the rods resized do i need to mark the rods for each cylinder they were in or will that matter since they will be resized. thanks for any info joe

wow thats weird they shouldn`t be that soft. You probably should mark them just to keep the pistons in the same bores since they allready have some wear on them. It sounds like they must have had a problem while heat treating them either that maybe the tips weren`t treated. If it was the whole push rod I would think you would also see wear in the guide plate area. You might try calling harland sharpe and see what kind of suggestions they have. your top end is getting enough oil right? chevys usually over oil the top ends but some people run oil restrictors with a roller cam
