It is a 406 with a dyno sheet that says it makes 531HP & 511 ft lb of torque. Behind it is a 1.76 powerglide, and in the rear spinning the tires is a Ford 9 inch with 5.13 gears. I have a coupla pics of the motor, i just need to upload them somewhere.

the truck will run 10:70's-10:80's in good air. average around upper 10.80's, i run 1/8 normally so 6.90's. It went to the motor shop this morning because it ran a 7:13 saturday when it should have been 6:88-6.89. Already found a few problems this morning looking at it in day light so he will work on it today and tommorrow. NExt year though NEW MOTOR TIME. I have aprox. 800-900 passes on this motor. We are looking into building a 427-434 small block next season.

well guys......we put in a new coan converter, your really cant beat them to tell you the truth BUT tonight went off the deepend. After 2 1 SECOND SLOW passes, it shut off and i have no oil pressure. So tuesday it is going to the shop for a new motor, just dont know what yet. Basically it will be another SBC on alcohol.Hopfully i can reuse my 406 if it isnt too too damaged.

Does that rear spoiler provide any downforce or is it just a cool way to add some weight to the rear of the truck?

Someday... My truck will wrinkle a set of tires like that!

The rear wind does add downforce, primarily for the end of the track ( when i actually run 1/4). Yea, i run 7lb's of air in the tires and they hook well when the track is in good shape.

well i finally have a positive update on my blown motor....the 406 is good, the crank is good, the rods and pistons are even good. But we are going to 13:1 pistons with new rods now. The carb was sent off friday to be converted to alcohol and the full alcohol system was ordered as well. What broke was the pic that connects the harmonic balancer with the crank, it sheered off and tore up the balancer pretty bad. The heads are world castings iron heads but are in good damn shaoe fir being so old and are gonna be ported and cleaned up with new parts put on. We are not sure on the cam yet, its not huge, so a bigger bump stick will be put in.I will be racing again the weekend after labor day, which will be good ebcause i am going nuts. Once we get the motor together i will have more pics and will have some gm X rods (solid shit) and 10:1 nitrous pistons as back ups.
