i have a mg that i'm working on and i need to bleed the clutch. i was wondering how you actually do it? you can't pump it up like brakes and the pedal always goes to the floor.

you may need to check the fluid level. If theres none there then youll have a dead pedal. Also if the master or slave cylinders are dead preasure wont build either.

It works basically the same as brakes. Instead of the pedal coming up higher as pressure builds, the slave cylinder moves more. Brakes don't move as much at the business end compared to the stroke of the clutch slave. The whole system doesn't have a lot of fluid in it, so it doesn't take many tries to push all the air through it. Pump pedal a few times to get bubbles out of the master cylinder, pedal up, open bleeder, pedal down, close bleeder, pedal up, repeat. I can't see it taking more than 5-6 repeats.

thats what i did, got a little air and i can see the slave cylender move just a little bit, but i still don't have a pedal, i was wondering if there was a secret to bleeding it. but i guess i did it right. so looks like now i'm going to be rebuilding the clutch master cylender.
