Yeah, we've kinda beat that one to death over at the IsuzuPup.com forum, and I doubt we're done. One of our members is a retired Isuzu mechanic/trainer, and he seems to have good connections with Isuzu. He pretty much blames GM for the problems.

It's not Isuzu going extinct, it's just Isuzu's U.S. passenger vehicles. They'll still sell them overseas, and they'll still sell their commercial trucks like the NPR in the U.S. Those have always been sold through a separate network of dealers from their passenger vehicles.

I really think if they'd offered their i280/i350 with a clean diesel, they would have scored big in the U.S. market, since NOBODY offers a midsize diesel pickup.

I know that they arent going to be gone for good, but as for the north american market they are done for and that i feel kinda effects us as far as isuzu inthusiasts go, i really think they should have kept with the midsize car market and not let go of the diesels in them i honestly think they could have taken off with a family sedan or even mini van that ran a hybrid diesel, or a impulse turbo diesel, something to kinda break the mould set by the bigger guys (GM, FORD, CHRYSTLER) you know what i mean, how cool would an impulse GT-TD be? it would definately be different, but mabye in the future something will spark a come back i know that a few years ago i heard of a concept car (not truck) they they were thinking/talking about selling along with there SUVs and pick-ups... but anyway its still kinda sad to hear about i like isuzu, and did you know by chance why they blamed GM cause i heard alot of isuzu guys for the recession if tahts a good word for it....

Man that sucks about Isuzu not going to sell in North America. Consumer reports had actually thought that might be the case for some of the models for 2009.
