I just got one that I'm going to get running and sell, cheap! It has a messed up piston from a broken valve and a replacement head. I may have the replacement piston, but I'm not 100% sure at this time.

I'm here, man! I'm here! :P

I'm seriously considering a swap to a 3.4L in mine so I can push those future 33s that are going to go on it.

Speaking of that, I'm looking for a rebuildable 3.4L block. Anyone?

Dkay: Please inform me of this Trooper you have, and that will be going for 'cheap'. Drivetrain, trim, etc. info would be highly useful...

hosetly, i would be warry of the early isuzu v-6s. They have issues whith oil consumption. The rings dont seat right and some passeges plug up easilly and isuzu has said that 1qt per 1000 miles is normal(no i didnt mean 3000miles i mean 1000miles). SO if you do do this, keep a close eye on your oil situation, and be shure to have the block cleaned vary well. They make good power and everything they just go through oil.

This isn't an Isuzu motor. This is the GM motor that went into Camaros and Firebirds. Little torque houses. There is also the Crate version that went into the S-10 and Blazer. I'm looking forward to this one. It'll either be 3.4 or the later 3.2L Isuzu V-6.

86 2 door 2.3L 5 Spd Trooper (not a II) here. I'm looking to pick up another a bit newer, 90 or 91 (still 1st gen) for a daily driver and then turn this one into more of a 'Ute for work/play. For a 4x LUV owner, a Trooper really seems like a logical next step to take. They can get a ton of groceries in the rain and if anything ever happens to it, you can pull parts off to improve your LUV.

I just had the pleasure of driving over Nestucca in a foot of snow in the trooper and it did great. I have to say though, the stock size 15 inch passenger car radials that came on it must go. I would have taken my 2WD LUV through that snow no problem on the Wildcat LT tires it has on it, but the Trooper needed every bit of the 4WD turning with the whitewalled grampa tires the previous owner put on it.

sc010b7527: If you're ever over on this side of the lake, why don't you throw one of those 2.8TDs in your suitcase for me? Damn, I wish we could get those here.

800xl: Go down to Firestone and pick up some Dueller A/Ts in the 31x10.50 flavor. That's what I did and they got me home from Portland the other night after they cancelled that lame-assed "chains only" crap. I love them, and if you catch the timing right, you can get them on a buy 3 get 1 free deal like I did...

If it were just tires I'd probably do it this month, but I have other stuff to catch as well. It needs wheels, and I need to replace 3 broken studs on the front. I'm not going anywhere near a tire dealer until those studs get replaced. I just know they'd crack a couple more off and I'd be stuck paying them to fix it. (can't be our fault sir, three were already broke) The thing also needs an alignment but the same reasoning holds there.

Yeah, I understand. I got the rears replaced when I got the brake job done. I'm still working on the front. Just replace them all, man. The lugs and studs both need to go as they are very soft and strip/break very easily. At Firestone, I bought the lifetime alignment and all four tires with lifetime balance, rotation, and flat repair for right around $500 out the door. Good Luck!

I've got a 96 trooper its a piece of shit. It worked good when I got it. But after I had it for a month i got into a head on collision. It never worked the same after that. But I think it will be a good thing if we get a trooper form added
