Im wanting to mount my amps on the back wall of the cab interior. Ive cut a piece of peg board ti fit because I thought mounting the amps to that would allow some air to circulate. If this will work, I would like to cover it with some sort of fabric that will hold up to the heat coming off the amps. My main concern of course is the heat. Will the peg board work? What choises do I have for covering it? Also thought about using diamond plate instead of the peg board. Any ideas?

what kind of power u runnin? my amp is sitting behind my seats of my 98 Sonoma, and im runnin 1200 watts, i have had no problem with heat buildup, it will get warm, but not past its thermo-protect shut off. (trust me, i push it really hard  ) also how heavy is the amp, my amp weighs around 5or 10 lbs, will the pegboard hold that w/ out flexin too much? also what kind of system u usin? u may be able to rig up a amp mount on the box or sumthin.
im hopin to mount at least 1 10" in my luv, with 375watts goin to it, but have to finish some other wireing frist.
jsut my 2 cents

Ive got one amp for the sub(12")(350 w) and one for the seperates(120 w). Ive got the peg board screwed into the bracing along the cab back. I have the amps mounted on it now and its holding up fine. The amps are behind the passenger seat and the sub behind the drivers seat. I also thought about using some round tubing as a spacer between the amp and the board and running some long bolts through them to mount them up off the board. Ive never had amps in anything before, so I dont know how hot theyll get. Just read the warning in the manual about them getting hot.

you should be okay if you keep a window cracked for ventilation. :)

I had a coustic 360 for the sub and a coustic 260 for the mids and highs when the truck was together. I didn't mount it to anything but the rear wall, because it had rises already in it. I never had any problems with heat.

You guys are lucky to have that much room. I have an '81 and I am going to have to figure a way for 6X9's to go behind the seat.

Well slick, if you figure out something soon keep me posted on what you do. The only thing I have about half figured out will require me to remove the seat. I hate to do that just for 6X9's  .

I had a box that was made for 2 6X9's. I cut it in half and there was a spot on both sides behind the seat that they would fit perfectly. And I can still slide the seat all the way back. 8) Now I just have to put the stereo in it.

Got my stereo installed today. It sounds really good to be just 2 6X9's. It must be that little bitty cab. A small amp in it and it would be even better. 8) :D
