I'm creating a cross over post from the orignal:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=19209&start=80

Ctmandu has helped myself and others get some new parts from Austrilia. I bought a new Hood latch. However the swevel piece where the cable attachs won't rotate as far as the stock one. There a small slot that the cable runs through when you lock it in to place. I think there are 2 options to get it to work. One is to grind the metal that the slot is slighty covered over by. The second option is to grind down the other side (the tabe thats on the backside of the arrow), thus making it able to rotate more. I did notice theres a small gap on the stock latch, but I'm wondering if that came from wear?
See the arrow as to the portion where the cable attaches.

After looking at the pic's i would suggest that you grind the lever insted of the tab so the cable hole will come out to match the old one pobably just a "U" shape to make it work.

Ok. I have a better view of both latches in this next picture. Are you suggesting that I grind the number 2 arrow, or 1 arrow? , Cut the lever right below 1 arrow, or D none of the above. :ebiggrin

Number two needs trimmed and the left side so that the cable pin hole is more to the edge like the old one

I'm just re-visiting this post. I forgot to update it back then. After grinding down the latch some it still wouldn't rotate correctly. It came to the point where if I ground down more, it most likely would effect the structure of the latch (it might break apart).

I'm just wondering if anyone has seen any other after market hood latches, or maybe someones rebuilt a stock one?
