:( My new motor didn't last long. No even 500 miles and a bearing has spun resulting in a slight knocking sound and very visible metal flake pieces in my nice clean brand new oil. I'm stilling trying to decide whether to just scrap this one and buy a new complete crate engine or have the new 350 40 over engine taken apart, cleaned and rebuilt. But, before I decide anything, I want to talk to a GOOD machine shop (with a good reputation)and see what they'll charge to tear the new broke motor down, check it out and put it back together again. Any good leads would be appreciated.

If your willing to make a road trip, i can recommend a shop in Savannah. This is the same guy that did the block work on my 383 project. He is precise when it comes to motors. He's not cheap but once he's done, your engine will run as smooth as an electric motor. He's got a 280Z with a 383 that is built to kill and i couldn't believe how smooth it ran with a fat cam in it.

I could use a weekend at the ocean. Shoot me a PM if you want with the details or post 'em here. I'd like to have someone closer but if there are no other recommendations, will give the Savannah guy a shout.

Tom owns the place and it's a family business. Tom, his wife and son. Tom's wife painted the 280Z. When i was there last, the 280 was for sale. 8000.00. If i could have, i would have loaded up the car in a heartbeat.
