I would like to swap my 4 speed out for a 5 speed. Is this possible?

I can give you more details, but I didn't want to write a book in the process.

Did you have specific questions?

Jack

Hi, and thank you.

Do you perhaps have a gearbox model name for the 5 speed?

I have tried to search, and just seemingly cannot find good information on gearbox model numbers.

MSG-5. I'm pretty sure it would be the MSG-5K version. Avoid using one from 1981-1985, because the 1986-1995 versions are much stronger. These were used in Isuzu Pickups with the 2.3 engines. And the output shaft will not fit your original driveshaft slip yoke, but there are different ways to remedy that.

What are you driving? 2wd, or 4wd? Gas, or diesel? My response was assuming 2wd gas.

Jack
