i have a Chevy s-10 with a blown transmission. i have a Chevy Luv i got for cheep. How hard would the motor swap be while keeping the stock luvs standard transmission

Not possible. The bellhousings aren't anywhere near the same.

Nope.

You could obtain a Muncie 4 speed or a NV3500 5 speed out of a 4.3 s10 or full size pickup. The NV3500 bellhousing is a bit too large to work with headers though. With manifolds or maybe shorty headers you'd be ok. The NV3500 has a hydraulic throw out so there's that to deal with too.

The NV3500 mounting point also sits right over the trans crossmember. That's good or bad depending on how you look at it.

The easiest route obviously would be to pair it with a TH350, get a cheap automatic shifter, have a driveshaft cut to fit and be done with it. As far as using the stock transmission, you're out of luck unless you stick with an Isuzu 4 cylinder. The 2.3 and 2.6 are popular.
