The guy I bought it from was trying to put a buick 350 in it, but never got it past the sitting the engine phase. I have a old school 327 that I think will fit right in there.

A smallblock 327 should go in fairly easily since the core support was already chopped out.
Bolt in set of powerbyace mounts and a few busted knuckles lol

I have seen those mounts. How do they fit, as in firewall clearance height etc?

Drummerforhire used them and said they fit well. Be advised that he did have clearance issues with the hydraulic slave cylinder for his clutch as far as the headers. Power by ace did modify the headers for him and if running a automatic then there is no issue. Also be advised that if you run power by ace mounts that hooker headers won't work, and the same the other way around.

I used their 4.3 v6 mounts and ended up modifying them to get the engine where i liked it but out of the box they did fine. Headers are going to be the deal breaker whichever way you go like luvrv8 said. With mine i used a set of pacesetter headers and cut and modified one tube to go inside the steering shaft. If your not cutting and welding it aint custom

I might just make my own. The guy I bought it from had welded in a plate to put the buick engine in. I had to cut that out to expose the original mounts.When I got down to the factory mounts they dont look to beefy.

Nice day out and I had some time so I did a little on the truck.

Its in really good shape not much rust at all.

Picked new bearings, seals, caliper repair kits and pads from rock auto. Auto parts wanted $34 each for the bearings. Good lord are they charging me rent for the shelf space? Got everything for $115 shipped at the Rock.

Now on to the coil overs....

Here is the engine compartment. About ready to start grinding off the tabs.

Did a little horse trading and look what I came up with.
4 link frame and 9 inch housing.

I like it. But I might be biased.

Started messing around with the frame trying to figure it out.


I pulled the 4 link bars and brackets off the old rusty frame for reuse.

Ice machine cleaner works great.

I got a little done. Welded the back brace on the rear end. Be nice dont laugh at my welding.

Worked on the front end a little. Got the shock mounts made.


Rebuilt the the calipers, and got the rotors back from Nelson.

Finally got back to work on the Luv. I had to have carotid endarterectomy surgery, also a couple of races and rebuilt a 98 mustang in the mean time. I know excuses, excuses Lol.
I ordered new 4 link bars and brackets. The old ones did not line up right. The frame is done now to wheel the truck in and get to cutting the frame. I think I will pull the cab off first.
