Bought my '77 Luv in '98. Previous (original) owner replaced the stock Hitachi with a Weber 32-34 carb. Finally had to get that carb rebuilt and am putting it back on the truck.
Bought a Chilton manual to sort out what is left of the original emissions and other carb attachments. The manual notes a spacer between the carb and intake manifold that is not present on this truck.
I bought an adapter kit for the Hitachi carb just to see what the spacer looks like - an aluminum piece I can easily make on my neighbors milling machine. Is it worth doing so? I am told it woudl improve air flow so maybe run smoother?
(Can't use this Hitachi adapter kit due to a different bolt pattern on teh intake manifold. Which must mean the original owner also put a isntalled a new intake manifold.)
