Maybe a couple or three times a year I'll be either locking or unlocking the hubs and discover one to be locked while the other isn't. Since the truck used to sit outside all the time, I assumed there was a smart aleck kid with too much time on his hands. But it's happened again since I moved. Could this be a mechanical anamoly in one of the hubs? This never happened on my old F250, which I drove for 25 years.

It's kinda like the sock you allway's lose in the dryer, there is no explination for it! :? I allway's check my hubs once or twice a month, no matter what 4x4 I might be driving...... You can make it a bit easier to check with a little paint, a dot on the hub, and a dot on the selector, as long as they line up the hubs are out.... Just don't forget to check the passengers side!

Good luck.

Hey, I have the same problems with my hub on the passenger side. I still works, but you don't get that click feel when you turn, so you're not sure it's locked in or not. Plus, for some reason, it effects the brakes on that wheel. When I'm in 4 wheel drive, the passenger front brake grabs earlier than the others. Very hazardous, ecspecially on these slippery roads these days, here in washington. Any Ideas, suggestions? What brand hubs are these, and where can I get a rebuild kit??
