It's not that you "can't" turn the wheels with a welded front, it's just very difficult and you have a high likey hood of breaking either your cv's, and/or other stuff in the front end. Luv's are tough little trucks, but their front ends are not the strongest in the world and will break if you push them beyond their limits. With that said you can get your self into plenty of trouble with only the rear end locked.

So moral of story is....If you plan on driving your Luv on the street, or use it for anything other than a purely offroad pig..DO NOT WELD THE FRONT!! I personally think there should be a law against welding IFS diffs but thats me.

nope, its a waste of time to lock up the front. ya break stuff too easy, my ol man did it in a jeepster and broke alot of sttering things. plus it would take alot of energy to get in and out of the truck just to turn the damn thing...
