What did you do to the radiator to provide the needed extra cooling? Mine looks entirely too small for a 2.6, plus it looks like it might need to be moved forwards some.

I have not changed over the radiator yet, am still using the 1.8 since it is still cold around here. But before winter is over I plan on putting in the 2.6 radiator am just going to cut the old bracket and possibly use them again but might have to make my own. I have plenty of room between my fan and radiator with using the stock 4spd tranny, how did you mount your engine?

I don't have a 2.6 in my LUV, but had thought about it. I do know you don't want to let a 2.6 overheat, they tend to shed headgaskets, so I figured some radiator mods would be in order. My fan only clears the radiator by about 1" now, so I assumed the larger engine would be even closer.

That is the engine that i used, would guess the only difference would be oil pan on a 2wd 2.6. So are you planning on keeping it fuel injected? or going to put on the 2.3 intake and be carb?

what about using the 2.6 block and lower end, a 2.3 head & the EFI intake & exhaust manifolds, ecu, etc from the 2.6 so it would have higher compression for more power + have the efficency boost and tunability of EFI.

I used a 2.3 oil pan on my 2.6 and it seems to be rubbing the diff on my 1980 4x4 LUV. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you use a 2wd or 4wd oil pan? They are different shapes.

I ended up using the 2wd oil pan. I just knew I read somewhere that you had to use the 2.3 pan but no one ever specified the 4wd one. I pulled it back out last night and am going to try to use the one from the 2.6 like trail_racer did. Hopefully that works, otherwise I have to go searching for a 4wd 2.3 pan.
