I would like to introduce myself. My name is Heath Keim, and I've recently bought a 1977 Luv that I initially bought for a "beater" but have found myself wanting to fix up. Because it is a relatively straight pick up, I don't think that it will be too much work. The dilemma is finding any body parts for it. Anybody have some info as to where to look, or am I doomed to use bondo? Obviously I've looked in the local junk yards, but there are very few luvs in the midwest, and the ones that are here have the same issues as mine ie. rusted rocker panels, ripped up seats, and rusty beds.

The biggest shame with this pickup is that the prior owner hand painted it kelly green, and put it on real thick. I must admit that the color is kinda fun, but wish the brush strokes weren't in it.

Well, that's it for now. I'll likely be posting quite a bit on here. I just ask that you guys take it easy on me. I'm not exactly real handy when it comes to restoring or fixing autos, but I'll never learn unless I start somewhere.

Heath

Thanks for the replies guys. I live in south central Nebraska. How this luv avoided all of the rust is beyond me. Every luv in the salvage yards that I've found have looked like swiss cheese. Great thing about it was that I managed to steal it for 400 dollars. Runs well. Pics will be up tomorrow. Didn't think of that, and it's dark out now.

File comment: if you look close, you can see the brush strokes from the hand paint job. Apparently it was used for a vending business.

I tried to post more pics, but it keeps telling me that the files are invalid. Anyone know why it might be doing this?

Welcome. You know, dano7tTruck on here is parting out a 78, shipping would kill you (from Ontario, CA to NE) but there's a body parts source (like if you need fenders, hood, etc).
