the luv didn’t come with springs, that’s why he was scratching his head.... so some one may have changed it at some point in time... if you can get a pic of them it would help, most people go with coil over springs in the back when they do the conversion...
look in here and you will see some good pics of the conversions http://www.luvtruck.com/ownreg_full_pic.php

you can use leaf springs but I wouldnt do all of that work with out installing a ladder bar or a 4 link system.

It's kinda hard to start this without having 3 solid days of discussion. If you have someone to help you out he better know the difference between leaf's, ladder bars and a 4link.

I don't have any tires that wide but I got some old Cragar Super tricks. Can't remember how wide they are but had 14.5 wide tires on them. If interested in them let me know.

Here are a few pictures of the wheels. They are Cragar Super Tricks 13" wide, the bolt pattern is 4 1/2" & 4 3/4", the back space is 6 1/2". I would like $200 plus shipping for the pair. One of the rear wheels has a slight bend in the bead. You can't tell by looking at it. I have some used slicks also. One pair are M/T ET Drag 32x14x15. They is not much rubber left but would make a mockups. You could have them if you wanted to pay shipping. The other pair are Hooisers. They are like new with lots of rubber left. The are 31x14x15. I would like $150 for the pair. If you need front wheels and tires, I have a pair of Centerline wheels with Moroso 5.50-15 front runners. The bolt pattern is 4 3/4". I would like $200 for the pair. If you are intereted in any of the stuff, make me an offer.

The exploder rear is probably an 8.8. It will have one long one axle and one short one. Putting 2 short axles in it after narrowing the long side axle tube is about the same as a stock width Isuzu rear. If the 9 inch you had is the right width, you can do a little fabbing on the 8.8 brackets and use the discs on the 9. The 8.8 is about on par with the 8.5 gm rear strengthwise, IMO...

Hi guys thanks for all your help!! Now for some tire info are frame is 24" wide, what will fit for tires so I know what to buy. We were thinking MT 29x15.5x15. You guys would know better than use on size. Can we go bigger? without the tires it will be all guess work and I hate to spend the money and be wrong. :?
