1980 4x4 diesel? I didn't think they started putting the diesel in until 1981 when they changed body styles. Is this an aussie edition only?

The tilt action is cool. Is there a bumber hidden under there or did you ditch the rear bumber all together?

See if you can get a cab ram and pump pack off a cabover truck cab.

An old White Road Commander or a Kenworth. Or an old fiberglass cab Atkinson. Or later International/Atkinson with the 6cyl inline motor (IE the big hwy truck not the concrete aggitator or delivery truck, they had sprung man muscle lift cabs)

One big one or two of the thinner ones would lift 800 odd Kg without to much drama. Truck cabs weigh a bit. Thats as long as the rails on the tray are solid enough. I doubt they would be if the load wasnt evenly spread.
In its down state if youve only got the hinge at the back and two mounting points at the front of the tray id say it will bend too.

The pump packs are like a jack, put the handle in and pump. I was thinking of setting it up with an electric motor and a cam to do the pumping. You would still have to manually switch it for up or down.

Some of the truck rams are double acting too. Will push up and when the cab gets up past the centre of ballance, fall over center. And then you pump the cab back up to centre of ballance and it falls back down. This is mostly the euro trucks and some of them were telescopic. Wouldnt be real strong.
