I have a slight delima. My buddy offered to sell me his 1974 Firebird formula, with 80,000 original miles for $4000. It's about 80% original and a strong 8.5 out of 10. Problem is my wife says the LUV has to go for me to buy it. What do you think?

That sounds like a deal if its got the right equipment. Check out a collectors guide site to see what the value of the car is. Not to see if youd be paying too much, just to see if the car will hold its value. If its a no optioned base model it wont hold value as well as a Trans Am edition. On the other hand if you dont care about a return on your money you can tear into it and start hopping it up. The Luv unfortunately will always be considered an old utility truck with no collector value what so ever. And Im sure someone may disagree, just my opinion.

ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY OR SOMETHING? KEEP THE LUV!!!! its not about $$$ or collector value.. the LUV is a cult classic. I've had so many different muscle cars over the past 20 years (tubbed novas, nitrous'd camaro's Chevelles, etc. etc.....and i always keep coming back to the LUV.

Keep the luv. There are gazzillions of Firebirds. Ooo it has a V8, almost all of them do. Put a V8 in a luv, not your ordanary thing. Cant stop luvving the luv.

Buy the bird then put the truck up for sale for an unreal amount say 10grand.When the wife says the luv has to go tell her your tryin, but not havin any luck.LOL Thats what Id do . :twisted:

some idiot would come along though and pay that, then you would have no exscuse to NOT sell it. Tell her to think of it as an investment int he future lol
