2.18 as of 3 hours ago here in Prescott, I like the fact that gas has been dropping about 2-3 cents a week here

Well, last week diesel in Welcome was 2.59, and last night in Greensboro (which was freezing cold) was 2.49, so diesel finally got cheap on us, premium I think is actually under $2.00 over here!

So speaking of cold weather, i'm sitting here with a two hour delay for school and my truck is covered shut with ice... great way to spend two hours...

Speaking of cold and gas, I was told that winter months are the best time to buy gas due to the fact, that it is condensed due to the cold, so you end up with more gas then you normally would. Just something I heard.

Cheapest here at the moment is $2.25.
No you won't get more gas when it's cold. 2 gal of liquid gas is 2 gal of liquid gas. Even if it was able to be compressed more would fit in your tank but you'd still pay for it.

it's heaven for those gasser's, i'd still like to see diesel back down to 1.75 like last summer, that was great filling up your tank for under $20...

It's true... I drive this for a living.. Image

The pumps are corrected to 60 degrees F. So in the hot months, you get a little less, and in the cold months, you get a little more.

Case in point, when I load, I punch in 8500 gallons... It pumps a gross volume of 8500, but according to the temperature, it figures up the actual gallons (net gallons) and charges the company accordingly. The reason it does this is because hot gas or diesel takes up more space. so it cuts it back so I don't overfill. Neat, huh?

:edit: The difference is hardly noticeable in a regular vehicle. 20 gallons of gas at 100 degrees vs. 20 gallons of gas at 30 degrees would equal about half a gallon at the pump. In a big truck that hauls 8500 gallons, the difference is only about 20-30 gallons over the same temperatures.

so what your saying.. is that if i were to fill up my car (10 gallons)... at 100 degree tempratures.. adn then if it went down to around freezing.. that the gas would actually expand.. and i would have 10.25 gallons give or take :?
