The latest school news in my area is the board is thinking it would be a good idea to eliminate kindergarten all together. Great idea, lets give the kids a later start on their education. Home schooling is sounding better by the day. Or maybe just moving somewhere were kids are more important than money, if that even exists anymore.

hell, who needs school send them right off to work. get all the 5 yr olds together and put them in a sweat shop to work. i swear anything for budget cuts. talk down here is that they're gonna cut back college funding again. tuition is already outrageous with state funding. costing me about $3000 a semester.

I hear ya man! Home schooling my baby when she gets old enough is what we'll probably do.

i will say this. Private school was far better for me, untill i got to high school anyway. Only thing they couldnt do was give me the music and occupational education i whanted. Other than that they are better...

With most public schools around here(Illinios) occupational training was gone about 10 years ago and music has been cut in alot of schools. Fine arts are always the first to go even though its been proven a hundred times over that one year of music increases math and reading skills ten fold. But what the hell do I know, Im just another face in the crowd of unheard parents.
