Man that sucks. I feel for you. Anyone who doesn't think they become family members has either never had one or SHOULD never have one.

Sincerely, Dog trainer
Karl

Sorry to hear this, my dog is now 15 and I fear that day. I allmost lost her 4 years ago but I ponied up 6K and out came a 9 1/2 pound tumor.

Man I have thought about this thread all day. I train bird dogs and currently have a clinic going. I have three bird dogs myself, an almost five year old Lab "otter", A three year old German Wireheaired pointer "moose", and a 14 year old retired Lab "jack". My old boy has really gone down hill in the last 6 months and I know it's only a matter of time. I lost my beagle just over a year ago, she was 11 and had cancer so I had to have her put down. ABSOLUTELY the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do. Not trying to steal your thread, just saying man oh man I feel your pain.

My German Shepard Doberman mix was my Mom's dog. We got her when my Mom passed away. That's been about 4 or 5 years now. I love this dog, but she is, I think, 13 or 14 now. This will be the hardest dog to let go of when the time comes. She hears me come home and meets me at the door everyday.

Have any of you seen Marley and Me? Reading this thread reminds me of that movie.
