so what your saying.. is that if i were to fill up my car (10 gallons)... at 100 degree tempratures.. adn then if it went down to around freezing.. that the gas would actually expand.. and i would have 10.25 gallons give or take :?

The other way around... Gas expands at higher temperatures... but the only way you get any kind of benefit from it would be to fill up when it's really cold... therefore you would get more, since the pumps are corrected to 60 degrees.

Clear as mud?

I think diesel is about 2.50 around L.A. I don't know about gas. I don't get to drive the Luv much. My son always has it.

Cheap watered-down gas at the local guy's place is $2.18 ... Shell is around $2.27 for 87, Hess cant make up its mind for any price between $1.99 and $2.15 for 87(can be any price between the two at any given time with no rhyme nor reason)... And diesel seems to be hovering between $2.50 and $2.58 anywhere in the state.

Diesel was $2.47 last night when I filled up at a Chevron that is always less then anyone else.
