 Post subject: one headlight dim

I just bought a 1979 chevy luv and I am working on it to get it on the road. I am having trouble with the head lights. One is bright an the other is dim. I just replaced both an have the same thing, any ideas ?

Yes check the ground to the light un bolt it clean (scuff pad or wire brush) and replace. Hint go to an electrical outlet and ask for a small bottle of De-Ox and use it on the mounting surface when you bolt your connections back down. This stuff was made to keep aluminum wire from corroding and so far i have found nothing better. Another Hint use it on your battery terminals there's nothing better.

I had a similar problem with both my headlights a while back after painting the engine compartment I forgot to land a ground wire. After correcting the ground problem my lights worked good as new or good as they possibly could.

Also just for future knowledge if anyone has a similar problem and its not a ground check the fuses for any corrosion. I had some nasty fuses in my truck when I got it and it was doing the same thing.
