Hey guys. Got a question. I'm installing a new deck in my wife's van and I'm running into a problem. everything works find until I plug in the antenna cord, then it blows the fuse for the dash lights. I can't figure out what's causing this. Anyone got any ideas?

The only thing that comes to mind is that the outside jacket on the antenna cable is a ground. I would guess that's why the antenna seems to be causing the blown fuse, although the real problem is likely something else.

Check the wire you used as a ground, make sure that that wire does not have any voltage when the dash lights are on. I have had this problem before, if it does just take that wire and cap it off that is you dimmer light and most after market decks don't support dimmer lights.

Hope that helps

Jim
