Anyone ever changed the idler arm on a 2000 chevy blazer 2wd? I haven't really looked underneath yet to see how in depth it is. Just wanted to get some input if anyone's ever done it.

well, that was interesting... :?

If anyone's wondering... take 3 bolts out, beat the shit out of it to get it apart, (a tie rod seperator for a volkswagen karmann ghia works great) and voila.

Putting it back together... much of the same... however, I cannot get the last nut to take. The stud is spinning. Nowhere to brace it. I thought about JB weld just to tack it in place, but I wasn't sure...

Anyone got any ideas?

A pair of channel locks works well, too..

That was more trouble than it should have been.

There should have been holes in the frame to put a socket on the other end of the bolt.

That's not the part I was talking about. There was a taper on the end of the idler arm that I was having trouble with. A little pressure was all it needed.

Oh ok. My mistake. That's usually a pain to get on!
