ok, as some people know, i got a 70' LTD w/ a C-6 trans, well a few months ago me and some friends had gone out for dinner just to hang out, well when I left a did a little tire spinin' when I left, and I was also able to launch the car at stoplights... well, now i can't, i can be sitting still and floor it and my car will just move forward, not like major trans-slippage but it feels sluggish, also, i can be driving a bit fast, say 50mph in 2nd gear and shift to D, if I keep my foot on the gas, the trans will just shift out of 2nd and not go into 3rd, unless i let off, then it'll grab..... wtf is going on? Bad clutches? Torque converter? what?

Probably a tired old trans that you shouldn't be racing with. It will live a long time if you sevice it and drive it like the old man you got it from did.

Yeah, i've been drivin' it slow ever since it started that, looks like I need to find a spot for that 460/c6 combo from my GF, hers is built and will probably handle me, I need to try to get it to turn over sometime, hopefully it's not seized from sitting for a while.

Maybe you sucked up a bunch of gunk into your fuel filter. Dont know how old your tank may be, but it is one thing you could check. That would definitally give you a sluggish feeling. RF

it's the original tank yes, haven't looked at the filter... i should... but it's for sale right now, new points and condenser and it runs better after just that and won't choke down.
