You're not going to bail out. Just walk away from the project for a while. Putting that much effort into this so far is a sure sign that you want this to be good. Trust me... All of the aggrivation and stress will wash away once you put the pedal halfway to the floor.
The engine builder must have been a dork. If you're willing to deal with this motor to such an extent, going thru the motor on your own seems logical. Information is all over the net. Just take your time and it will be worth it.

I agree with blue , take a break from it . It sucks to be close and go backwards.

I get easily frusterated and my patience level has been like a short fuse to a giant bomb. I just get tired of doing things 2 or 3 times my favorite saying is do it right the first time but you wouldnt know that anymore if you looked at the way things are going. As for my fired engine builder he was a good friend and a really good mechanic, after he went through a divorce he kinda went south and lost all his talent to partying and becoming an alcoholic. Like I said this was the 3rd motor and the last one he will ever touch of mine so I am going to try to take this thing on my own and hope it all works out. Ive been trying hard all day to get the other head off but it hasnt quite worked out so Im off to try it again and hope I dont get interupted.

well I got the other head off looks pretty uniform to the other. I cant see anything wrong from my point of view. Im going to try to get my girlfriends step dad to come take a look at it one day this week maybe a well trained eye will spot something retarded that I missed.
