You dont have to run for your title on this it is supposed to be like a huge test and tune then they pick 16 cars to run for the money. But they did mention if you want to run for titles they would find you a race. Iam NOT losing my truck either got to much blood, sweat, tears, and lost girlfriends in it for that not mention my first borns college tuition!

all you really need is a 10.anything car to run it. Technically you dont even need that... just a hell of a lot of experience street racing. Its not so much the fast car that wins, its who can BS the best in their negotiations. IMO the host of the show has lost cars for some of these poor guys. he kind of puts pressure on them to take a race for the sake of keeping the show moving or for good TV. the particpants appear to feel pressured into races they know they cannot win and they don't. besides the negotiations and a fast car, the rest is consistency and experience leaving from a flagger, street racer style.

luvsadrag, I don't believe there are any nogetiations on this one . Everyone that shows and pays gets 2 runs "time trials" so to speak . You must have a street car that will pass tech inspection. They are going to pick 16 cars they like . Probably single elimination starting at dusk and going until the big show $10,000 to winner . You have to have a fast street car with eye appeal , and our trucks are just that . I'm in Houston and if mine where ready I would represent . Count me in for next year if it happens again.

63' ford pickup won the 10k and the driver was a chick. I didnt make it broke tranny the day before (damn that nitrous) and only had a powerglide to replace. My truck is not set up for a powerglide so I wasnt going to bother.
