few weeks ago my brakes started squeaking on one side of the rotor. so i decided it was time to get new brakes. i bought new pads and had the rotors turned. and when i put it all back together, it made a hell of a lot more noise then it did before.

it is constant and loud as hell!

what is the issue

help me please

Did you replace your brake hoses?

Did you glue the new pads in? When you say constant do you mean while braking or while driving and or braking?

I thought we were talking about your LUV. :?

I cant remember which ones, (this was in the 80's), but on some vehicles you had to rebuild the calipers with every brake job. This was because of the design of the seal inside, the piston could not be pushed backwards for the thickness of the new pads. the seal would roll in it's groove and always hold light pressure on the rotor. The new pads would wear out in like 10,000 miles.

well thank you all for the help.. but the mystery has been solved!

the guys at les schwab bent a lil bracket on the caliper when they took off my wheels to put on my new tires... that is why the noise starter the next day. but the lil bracket was rubbing on my wheel!!! that was the noise all along!I showed them the quote they gave me, for almost $200 for brakes, when it was a bent bracket that they did... i was not happy!!!

and they new it..

Glad it was a simple fix even though it was idiots making mistakes.

My buddy had about a 99 or 2000 Chevy 1/2 ton. It was lowered, and he was at a tire shop buying new wheels and tires. As he left he heard a grinding noise. He turned around and went back. They pulled a wheel on the front and was starting to grind away on his caliper!! He stopped them and asked WTF?? The wheel was rubbing on the caliper, so they were going to take a little off so the wheel would clear. He said NO WAY and ended up buying some other wheels that fit, but he was not happy with.
