Ok, here I am on a Chevy site looking for some help with a Ford!!!! Anyway, I have a Ford nine inch rear end under my 1953 Ford F-100. It is 57 inches from flange to flange and has disk brakes. What I need to know is what vehicle this dang thing came out of! I need to rebuild the brake calipers and the prior owner hasn't responded to my e-mails for the last month. I am positive it is a nine inch and physically measured the read end last night. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to identify the parts I need to fix this thing? This afternoon when I sneak out of work, I mean after I get off of work, I plan to bring it to Pep Boys and have them take a look at it if I can't figure out what Parts I need or rear end this is. Thanks...

I've never had any luck with the big chain type auto parts stores when I need help like that. (if they can't look on the computer they're lost)
I would try to find a mom and pop parts store or even a speed shop in your area that would have knowledge in their head.

I was at LVMS last Friday night and Saw Shelby's shop in the buildings near the freeway. There is also some other shops in there. I would think somebody around there could help you out with advice if you just haul it up there and show them.

I didn't think about Shelby. I work close enough to their shop to smell their cars. I think I will pass by. Thanks.

Just a guess but it could be from an early Bronco

does it have a smooth (with 2 dimples) back on the pumpkin or is it a later model 9 with the ridge for the ring gear?
57" with a ridge on the back of the pumpkin and factory disks would be a late model. probably a Lincon Versaille. i bet it has a 5 on 5" lug pattern too?
