 Post subject: Chevy 2500 or Ford F250

I know this Isn't about a Chevy luv but i wanted to know everyones opinion. What should i go with as a work truck i have no credit and i want to finance one of these trucks to begin my credit. These trucks are old, maybe beat up here and there, and i know they arent the best trucks but im willing to buy one if it means helping me start/build my credit not only that i need one for work.. .......

2000 Chevy 2500hd/gas. 4speed/automatic, 4x4, 190,000miles, dented bed in some areas, clean interior, 6.0L engine, 300hp/360tq, Reg cab/Longbed $3,798



2002 Ford F250/gas 2wd, 4speed/automatic, 147,000miles, clean body/interior, 5.4L engine, 260hp/350tq. Regular cab/Longbed $4,999

I vote for Chevrolet. 4x4, cheaper, and I'm a fan of the 6.0.

Here is my 2 cents on it. You drive what you want to drive. Ford people will always cut down chevy and Chevy people will always cut down ford. I do know 1 thing Chevy and Ford people will always cut down dodge. They all have their own little problems so get the one you like.

I've been a dealership service advisor at both Ford and Chevy. All makes and models have issues. That being said, I'd choose the Chevy. But keep in mind that both of the trucks you're looking at are approaching the end of their expected lifecycle. I've seen some vehicles go past a quarter million miles but that's the exception.

If you end up with the Ford DO NOT try to change the spark plugs yourself. They require a special tool and process to extract correctly. These plugs are poorly designed and tend to break off in the head.
