Well, I posted back at the end of January about my '82 'Yota 4X4- lifted, 36" tires, 22R, rusted all to Hell, solid frame. I finally got the little beast home Friday.
It took 3 hours & a chainsaw, but we managed to drag it out from where the scrap hauler had put it- & then promptly surrounded it w/ junk metal.
Sunday I put a battery in it, checked the fluids, cut the fuel line so it didn't suck up the ancient fuel outta the tank, & turned the key. It spun over OK, so I poured a little unleaded down the carb & she fired up.
Today I ran a fuel line into a gas can & the little truck started up & idled pretty well- esp considering it hadn't been started in who knows how long.
I'm trying to track down some 16.5" 6 lug wheels for it so I can get me a set of the military H1 36X12.50 tires.
Initial plans are to clean the tank, fix the brakes, & then see what she'll do as far as moving on her own. I did crank it w/o pushing in the clutch & it did move, so the clutch should be OK. Beyond that, I'm not sure what I'll do. It
has to have a new body........ anyone in South Texas got a LUV shortbed body they wanna part with dirt cheap??
