Thanks the down fall for racing this early is humidity and mesquitoes . Anyway I trimmed the trees and shrubs washed the wifes truck and goofed around the house all morning and the wife says I'm gonna weed the garden why don't you go play , as long as your home in time to go out to eat tonight . I got 3 passes in and it went 11.88 @ 112 ! Track was excellent again . The guys from Psi motorsports ( chassis dyno guys ) were there with all the lightnings . Kinda funny 6 lightnings and 1 little luv . The more this thing gets broke in the better it gets . A fresh converter and transmission and this thing will be flying . These are my fastest passes ever . Anyway just thought i'd post new news.

daveNnorman .. I have a couple of videos further back in the thread , although they are only 12.30 passes . It is hard to get my camara man out .

luv3798 I can't tell my exact 1/8 time , but I will say I run a 7.64 index class , and depending on the weather I'm "around " that .

Update on performance , I took the truck cruising dowmtown saturday night and met some cool people and saw some cool cars . Got home and goofed around the house sunday and got the oil changed . Took the truck out sunday night . The temp was around 53* and 95-100% humidity , steady ocean breeze out of the southeast about 5-7 mph . I went down a jet size and could only get 11.99 out of it . Guys that were watching said it toted the front wheels 12" in the air . I need more converter bad , as it is not leaving and running the 1/8 as fast as the mph says it should be running . I'll see if there are any pics of it from this week end .

Just thought i'd post an update for ya'll . Some may remeber earlier in this thread when I had the exhaust run on the truck , well the tail pipes were in the way of the rear suspention travel so I cut them off . Well the reverb has been super annoying . Yesterday I had these welded in to cut down on the exhaust drone .
Image
While it was up in the air we concocked these .

Let me know what you think about the latest evolution of the truck .

Dumps  The exhaust looks nice. I wish mine was on one side.. It would cure a lot of my problems with a gas tank. :(

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Nice exhaust Hotrod! I have always love the sound of exhaust dumped as the *** end. I also like the idea of cut outs. Very nice and clean install!

Just thought I'd post an update . I ran the truck at clobberthon 34 feb 17 , 07 and went out first round . Lost to a camaro both of us ran 7.64's . He was .005 faster than me . I brought it home and didn't even get the slicks off and had the front end torn apart . Well , I 'm up to my ears in the T.J.White toyota rotor conversion and it is fighting me all the way so far . I am hoping to have this finished by friday so I can test and tune friday night . Trying to get ready for pinks . I'll try and get some pics up soon .

Just an update . In the clobberthon I short shifted 2nd to 3rd and felt the tranny slip . It had already been slipping 1 2 shift . So I pulled the plug while I had it up in the air to drain and refill the trans . The fluid looked like a bass boat all the metal in it . The trans had over 200 passes on a home rebuild ( mix and match forwards and a tci shift kit ) . Trans is apart and being rebuilt should have it back monday or tuesday . I am flushing the converter and reinstalling it . Should pick up a tenth from the new tranny . Hopeing to have it out at the track for test and tune on friday . I'll keep ya'll posted .

I have not posted lately so I thought i'd update . Got the trans back from the rebuilder , Tom Hard of Carl's transmissions here in Baytown , and reinstalled it after flushing the converter . This thing ids great and will leave serious rubber in second . Took it to the track friday and played with the timing and got an 11.85 out of it . Took it back out sunday and played with it a little more and it went 11.82 . The timing was jumping around about 6* . Pulled the distributor tonight and found a bunch of end play , like 1/8 inch . Shimmed this out and tighted end play to .003 . Re installed it and timming was steady as a rock . Played with the advance curve and got it to 15* initial and 36* total , all in by 3050 rpm . It feels good . I still need more converter , but I don't have time to change it before the Pinks all out Saturday . So friday I'll get it as good as I can and hope I get picked saturday . Ordered weld front runners to match rear slicks and got 24 x 5 x 15 Moroso drag tires for the front . I'll post a pic of it in this trim Here in a few days . I also met Donny ( luvondope ) sunday . He is a super nice guy and told me he had a couple of LUVTRUCK.com sticker from the original print so I can advertise for this place .

O.K. the truck has a new look , in drag , this combo will only see track time and gets it's first showing here , then pinks , and finnally Clobberthon 35 march 24 . Let me know what you think .

I thought I'd add this one of the tech inspection dots.

I ordered a new converter today It is a 3400-3800 . I will not get a chance to get it in before Pinks , but oh well . So now I have the 2800-3200 B&M , a custom 2900-3300 that I will have cut open and loosened up the about 3500 and this new converter that is said to be looser and in the 3750 range . I also think I will dis assemble the rotors and have thr wheel mount flange surfaced as the toyota rotor conversion put the front width out about and inch .

I still have the ralleys for street use . The welds have SB-2 moroso drag tires on front and M/T ET drags on the rear . They are Only for the track .

Cool I love both sets of wheels, and I never really cared for rallys but I really like them on your truck. You new wheels look great aswell. You just all around have a great looking truck hotrod.
