so if i take the linkage off the hitachi it will fit on the weber no problem? it looks like it already has some type of linkage on it, maybe for a different vehicle or something. maybe that one will work, like i said im new to the carb thing. thanks ctmandu, do you happen to have a pic of what the linkage looks like on the weber or the linkage period, again thanks.

Warm up your engine to operating temperature, then set your idle at 800-900 rpm's.

Now turn in the fuel/air adjustment screw untill it runs rough, then back it out counting your turns untill it runs rough again. Turn it back in exactly 1/2 of the amount of turns you just used to turn it out, and it is set.

All weber 32/36's are set halfway between the lean rough idle and the rich rough idle at normal operating temperature and at normal idle rpm's.

Pretty simple, huh?

Beats me. The guy said it came off his 79 luv. probably a straight custom grille.

Are you sure it's the carb? Is it dieseling at shutdown? If so it might be timing more than carb...

Here's some more info on setup and adjustment:

http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/adjust.htm

http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/3 ... unning.htm

http://www.euronet.nl/~wilaben/adjusting_weber.html

Good luck!

If you go into the free stuff on this site's info download page, there is a complete file on all things weber that I personally donated there. You can download it, open it up, and it contains a lot of .pdf files (Adobe acrobat reader...if you don't already have it, you can download it for free) that list part #'s, adjustments, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, diagrams, pictures, rebuilding/repair instructions, etc. for every model of every weber carb made.

While you are at it, check out all of the other great freebies there too.

BTW...if it's deiseling when you turn it off, your timing is set wrong, just like the man said.

when I put my weber on it would diesel on shut down too. But my idle screw was in too far. I gave it a little bit to slow it down and it fixed it.
