Well I am down for one of course, Mine came with the chrome but I would prefer without the spreader but hey as said a black spreader could be used and go unnoticeable so it would be fine as well.

Got a hold of redluv80 his is a good one that came out of a solid back glass 4x4 with a busted back glass but the rubber is misplaced currently so...a no go with that idea.

Hey, I need the rear as well.

I was watching 'My Classic Gar' and they were interviewing a representative of Steele Rubber. He said that if you sent him an original they would evaluate the cost to reproduce vs. potential sales and let you know if it would be worth their time to reproduce it. We should take a poll similiar to the T-Shirt poll seeing who would purchase. If we approached a reproduction company with X orders it might help persuade them.

Go ahead and start a poll, I will pin it to the top, that is one of the few peices I need to replace on my truck. the idiot that painted my truck didnt tape off the back window for crap and I tore the rubber in the corner trying to get it loose from the paint! Good idea Eric!!!

Done.

So far 100% of poll respondants want one. ;-) That should persuade any rubber manufacturer, don't you think?

Well that is only 10 people, no way are they going to do it for that few. Got to thinking even if every one on the site commited to one, that still is only around 1200 of them. Does anybody know what the minimun is needed to be considered???

OK, well as for the poll, yes...if enuff inteterest is there, then I will pursue it to what I can put together.
it's for making them, yes.
as for if I pursue it, what will people actually what to install?
That is what I am pursuing in this.
I am not the only one here who is coming across this issue; bad rear gasket rubber etc.
I will follow this and see what transpires.

I for one would like the spreader version, My Mikado came with the chrome strip and as I'm trying to restore it to original (?) condition with some upgrades, I would like to replace mine to original. Of course, cost is a major factor in anything, but I still will need both of them front and back.
Thank you in advance for your efforts, man. It's a good thing for us!

Like dbest5012, I myself need to get both a front and rear window gasket with chrome trim for a 1982 LUV. The truck came with factory chrome trim and I'm going to be in the process of putting another cab on my truck this spring/summer. The cab I will use doesn't have chrome trim on the glass and the windshield is busted, so I'm needing new rubber gaskets. A few months ago I called a fairly local Isuzu dealer to see if they could get the weatherstripping with chrome trim brand new and they could. The prices weren't too bad if I remember, but if I could go a cheaper route I would. I'm looking forward to seeing how this ends up for all us needing the rubber gaskets.

Not to rain on the parade but my friend who owns a rubber molding company (Pacific Molded Tech) informed me the die would cost him about 6K.

Cool, I applied at a auto glass company today for a job and asked them about them, they have the windshield rubbers but no back glass, he can get different styles in 50ft rolls but since I dont have my luv with me, dont know if any of the styles will work. He did have a Ford Courier gasket that he has had forever, of course.

What if and where could I buy just the chrome bead for the window gaskets? Also, along the same line (?), my truck also came with chrome drip rail covers. Yes, they are stock. Any ideas on that?
You're doing a great job on your research, hope you can find something that would be an affordable alternative for us all.
Thanks, for working on this.

The Ford courier rubber may be close enough the back glasses look very similar I have thought this ever since I removed a sliding back glass out of one that me and redluv80 hauled off for scrap metal.
