Finally had a nice warm day.

I replaced my points, set them at 18, condensor, and cap. turned my fuel mixture screw in and turned it back 3 1/2 turns like the book says, I can not find the mark to time it, I felt all over the back pully scraping with my finger nail to find the mark, am I looking in the right place.

also, after my truck warms up and runs for over 30 min, It won't start, turn the key and nothing, so I jumped the solenoid and it whirred but didn't engage the starter, but after it cools down it starts fine. so is that the starter that is bad?
I can't believe all the maintenence that the kid I bought it from didn't do.
He had to be clueless on a vehicle, I don't think he ever lubed it, flushed the radiator, washed it, etc:) I'm going to run it on ramps, just to get the mud off the underside, I had to use a wire brush to find the grease zerks.LOL

I have a\c and to check the timing I have to remove the compressor to see the timing marks. So look where the compressor was and you should see the timing marks on the timing cover. On the upper passenger side.

Oklahoma weather, 62 deg friday, it's cold and snowing today.
I bought a Hitachi from Luvprojects, and I am going to rebuild it, I may try to polish it with my dremmel, and pull off the intake, blast it and paint it and put on a medium size chrome, air cleaner.

Try Kentucky weather. 60 degrees today and I was riding my bike at 4 o'clock. Now it is 12 midnight, and has been sleeting for a couple of hours. Only supposed to be 22 degrees tomorrow. I'll be glad when summer comes back.
