Well, I just have the one e-mail address, but I need to ask Eric Q what address he has associated with his account in PayPal. I spoke with him about handling this for me. If you put anything in with my e-mail address I will receive it, but it's all new to me, so I have to wait and see how it works.

tumwatertaz@gmail.com is my paypal account...but what is the $$ for?

Surely not little old me...I'll just drink it all up.

BTW John...I got you a complete gasket set and a new oil filter for the engine...it's all waiting for your big butt to come & get it.

I found all kinds of duplicate and extra Luv stuff that I've bought on Ebay because it was so cheap scattered all over my shop when I cleaned it up today.

Good thing my other half was at work....or The Tazman might have got a free trip to the woodshed to get his britches tanned....lol

OK. It's update and organize time....
Is it a good running used engine?
Did it cost anything?
List other stuff you will need like fluids. (not beer, buy your own  )

What I'm getting at is how much $ is going to need to be donated. It is starting to sound like it's almost a done deal for very little $ so far, which is great for all of us. I was thinking you'd need to rent a eng. hoist and John says he has one. Cool!

I wish I wasn't so far away. This sounds like it could be a fun day at John's. 5 or 6 guys show up with a bunch of tools and swap out the engines and have it running in one day. Pizza, beer. I'd love to be there.

If he was closer I would be there.

Now who should we pay pal the money to? I just sold some parts to Dottie and will take that money and add some more to help.

I don't have an engine hoist, that's Tumwatertaz's and it's on his end. I might be able to use my (good) neighbor's engine stand, but it isn't what I need. I will need a cherry picker, and I don't know the cost. A day has gone by and I have no way to go to get the items. I don't want Tumwater getting his butt whipped on my account, he might not want to be so generous. I talked to Eric Q and Nascar44, and a couple more people about help to go get the items. I might be hearing from them soon, but most people want to wait until the weekend. I would have gone today, if I'd had a way.

If you send the funds to Tumwater make sure you remind him what it's for or he will "drink it up"! A timely notice e-mailed to me wouldn't hurt. I think Eric Q would be better, especially since I've asked him already and he is very close to my location. I just need to get him to specify what e-mail address he uses with PayPal. An earlier conversation we had today didn't bring this fact out; we both didn't know. I have but one e-mail address, so that could be used but I don't want to go overboard. I will let you all know what is going on, so you all know what is being done.

I have a hoist to load it with...and a gasket set to help...so I don't need any funds (and I was kidding about the "drink it all up" part...so FFS lighten up)...so you all can send any extra $$ to John.

I just did some trading and free labor to get this used engine and the rest...so I'm OK with that.

John's supposed to be here to pick it all up in the morning...so we'll see how it all works out.

Hey FullaLuv,

warning! this may be confusing!!!!!!

PAYPAL 101:

OK, I just looked up on paypal how receiving money works. It sounds like you have what they call a "Personal Account". That is the simple basic plan one gets when they wanna buy something online (they have your credit card info). It says that you can receive money directly, but it is pretty limited (only 5 transactions in a 12 month period and they take about a 5% cut). So, given that likely more than 5 people are gonna donate, it makes the most sense to either upgrade your account to have a "Premier Account" or use someone elses Premier Account that is already set up for recieving funds like that (Paypal takes about a 3% cut instead of 5%). The "Premier Account" is also free to sign up for but is a bit more complicated to get started (the benefit is that you can withdraw your money anytime online and it gets deposited directly into your bank account (it takes about three days to clear into your bank.)

Anyway, if you want to upgrade to the Premier Account, you gotta give them your bank account number and bank routing number (both these numbers are on the bottom of a check).

Paypal then makes two deposits into your bank account for less than a dollar each (say 13 cents and 53 cents). You then check your bank account to see what the actual amounts are (only you personally would know these amounts) and then enter those numbers online to activate that account. You even get to keep the 66 cents or whatever it totals up to! This whole process may take a couple/few days (for the two deposits to make it to your bank.)

When you give money to someone on Paypal, you enter that person's email address (that they had registered with Paypal.)

to sum up:
It sounds like Tumwatertaz can accept money into his account and we have his email address (but from the previous post, it sounds like you are cool with the funds going to FullaLuv). We are waiting on Eric Q's email address (is it a "Premier Account" or not?) to potentially receive funds. Fullaluv, do you wan't to upgrade your paypal account to recieve funds directly?

So I hope this helps and makes things a bit more clear as opposed to less clear :D anyone correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

ROCK ON!

Yep...mine is a premiere account that I use all of the time...but it hardly ever gets to my bank because whatever I get from wheelin-n-dealin' I always spend right away on more new parts for my truck...lol

And I don't have a problem with accepting funds destined for John and sending him a cashier's check...or you guys can just send him a money order or cashier's check directly to him...it's all okey dokey with me.

If John lived closer...I'd just get a hold of a friend of mine to have his truck drug over here...and we could have it running in no time....but 50 miles away just don't cut it.

So I'll leave it up to you all and John to decide.

I'll be out back in my nice clean shop tinkering on my truck if you need me.

My account is not a Premier account but it looks like as long as the source of the money is coming from one of the following there is no limit to the number of transactions and no percentage taken out.

Personal Account
Open an Account Free
Send Money Free
Receive payments funded by PayPal Balance, PayPal Instant Transfer or PayPal eCheck Free
Receive payments funded by Credit Card, Debit Card or Buyer Credit 4.9% + $0.30 USD (limit of 5 transactions per 12 month period)**

I sent FullaLuv an email stating that I would not be available until Sunday to do the hauling. I know he's pretty anxious so he'll probably have someone else lined up before then so it's probably best to shoot the money to Taz.

ericq47@msn.com There's Eric's PayPal e-mail address, so either one is cool with me. This gives me a huge boost if y'all do help out I'm going to send each and all of you my personal thanks and let you know how it all turns out.

I'm going this morning to meet TumwaterTaz and my friend Larry is driving his pickup. We will be on the road in about an hour. Larry is deaf. We are taking a map and that's all I have to say about that.

PS- will bring camera

Larry works graveyard shift. He's opted to sleep first before the trip, so I have to wait. We talked on the videophone, and he's tired, so I have to wait. He doesn't know I drank two cups of coffee and I'm wired this morning. I usually only drink one. Well that gives me time to clear out some space to unload the engine, and that's what I'm going to do. I'll let y'all know how this day goes...

Ok! I sent a little $ to Taz at tumwatertaz@gmail.com through paypal (Eric Q, thanks for the correction! I am not sure which of the categories my transfer was so I sent it to Taz so as not to use up any of the 5 limited transactions of the "Credit Card, Debit Card or Buyer Credit" in your account)

Have fun gettin the engine today boys!

Thanks Dottie, I just spoke to TumwaterTaz by phone, and he knows we're not on the way yet. That's great of you to start the help, and I should be meeting TumwaterTaz today so if I have to squeeze it out of him I'll try. LOL

I am going to try the best I can to do this engine swap and give it another try, so y'all can revel in the fact that it wouldn't have happened without your push. I'll be thanking every one over and over so just get used to it!

Well...FullaLuv and his buddy showed up this afternoon...we BS'ed for a while, he met my wife and he saw my truck and garage.

Then him and his buddy, the engine, and an armful of gaskets went on their merry way....with the $$ that Dottie sent in his pocket.

I hope that engine holds up well and stays solid for him for a good long while...and I wouldn't mind meeting up with him and his family some time in the future after he gets it running.

Although he is absolutely obsessed with taking pictures every 2 seconds...he seems harmless enough...lol

He took a bunch of pictures of my truck, my wife, my garage, me, etc....so I'm sure you guys will be seeing them here soon.

(Feel free to put the picture of me up on your dartboard...or use it to scare the neighbor kids, stray varmints, or peddlers outa your yard.)

And he should have close to everything he needs now to get his truck back on the road..except for a few odds and ends.

So thanks a bunch guys for all you have done for him...and I will try my best to make sure all of the rest of the $$ you guys drop in my paypal account gets to him ASAP so he can use it to finish the job.

So go git-er-dun John!
