Cevan Put a rack&pinion on that truck as it will knock about 45lbs. off the nose and go to a vented rotor about 15-20 lbs. any thing off the nose would really help.
progress to my truck is huge since those pics were takken, front end is all coil over now, breaks will have to wait till summer here, with my motor moved back and what the scales tell me i wont sweat 45 pounds but i agree a rack is a better way.

hotrod what kind of fuel are you running? you might want to give some high octane a try and see what happens. hope to catch you at hmp soon my motor is suppose to be ready tomorrow so it will be a couple of weeks before i make it out to the track, your rid looks and runs real good i wish mine looked that good but i like ugly and quick and it's just that.

Well the Patrick and Daniel @ PSI Motorsports really helped me out today , thanks guys . I started out with 70 jets in front and 76's in the rear of my Demon 650 . We made the first pull , stumbling on the tip in I might add , to the dismal tune of 309 @ the rear wheels . I thought this thing ought to put 320 down , so that's what I was shooting for . The A/F ratio was lean so I started adding fuel . You have to remember these guys work with all brands , but there mainstay is the ford mustang and lighting . They don't do carbs very often and specialize in fuel injection and computer programing . Pull after pull I added fuel until we reached the magic 12.5 to 1 . Safe for a carbed motor and room to move up or down with the weather . The little motor put down a best of 345 HP and 342 FT# of torque . Thats like 406 at the flywheel . I will play with the timing and move the jets up and down from there at the track to make sure we got it all , but the truck has never run better . No stumble , smooth power , and easier to start . I think if the weather holds out , first day in like 2 weeks we havenot had rain , I'll bolt the slicks on and put'er under a load at the strip . OH , almost for got 10 to 1 compression on 89 pump gas .

Glad to see you were able to squease a little more out of it. I am sure the dyno time was not cheap, but it did work out. :D

I like your rally wheels. :D The rear look wider.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

My street combo is 165R15 on 15 x 6 fronts and 255/60/15 on 15 x 8 rears. The fronts will be for sale soon as I am about to do the "T.J. White toyota rotor conversion " and they are 6 lug . I will run weld draglites at the track and ralleys on the street . i also thought about some chessy ladder rack say 1" square tube and maybe a pair of magnetic electrical contractor signs for street camo . mybe a light weight camper shell .

Man what a night . I pulled in to the track and teched quick as the crowd started to build . Passed tech and found a spot to bolt on the slicks , pull air cleaner , set up shop . First pass it came out and hopped and shook the tires . rear went to drivers side a tad , hooked , straightened out and went 12.24 @110 . I wasn't real happy with myself . Second pass I loaded the converter to hard and pushed the front , red light , it went 12.16 @110 . Third pass itold myself calm down let the truck do it's thing and quit trying to force it . It responded with a 12.11 @ 111.11 I short shifted 2 nd to 3 rd shift. I pulled the mufflers and did it again . I think I put to much heat in the tires , but it jumped out to the tune of 11.93 @112.63 . All these pass are with a 1.74 60' time . The truck has gone 1.63 60' . I went back to the pits and pulled the traction bars and headed back up . There were approx 125 cars at the track so lines where not that long , but a motorcycle had wrecked and until he was released from the ambulance and it was back in position that did track prep and we sat . As we were sittig a wave of cars and i'm not kidding 200 cars show up . This is 8:45 pm tech lines are backed up 2 football fields , cars blocking main road totrack for 1/2 mile . The 1/8 mile track , Houston motorsports park , Cancelled due to water coming through the pavement . I only got one more run in , and people were parked everywhere . My final pss it went 11.930 @ 113.17 . All and all a fun night . i guess everybody has a little cabin fever down here as it has rained for almost 2 weeks straight . Anyway sorry for the long post . hope i am not boring ya'll .

11.9's Sounds like a hell of a night, and no it wasn't boring at all. Actually gave me the urge to want to take my Camaro down to the drag strip tomorrow. I don't know if it was a inspiration or temptation.

Hot Rod 80, good to see you get out there and get into the 11's on the 4th pass. I'm still working on mine when I can, and I haven't seen Donnie post anything either. An eleven second street truck ain't too shabby. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys , I'll keep chieseling away at it and updating as I go. These trucks are fun . I had 30 people come look at the truck and talk to me or about one fromthe past . People I don't know wave at me because they have seen the truck around . Anyway , I think the converter is about 400 rpm tight for the heads and cam . I hate to go too far as I drive this thing alot.

If the convertor is a little tight on motor passes, it should be just right for the spray!

No spray YET ! I am having a 383 / 396 sbc built for it , so as soon as that,s in the garage I think i'll out 150 on it for pinks.

Update on performance : Got home from running around friday and was in the driveway messing with the truck , reinstalling the traction bars , and the wife says, " what time are you gonna be home from the track ?" . I hadn't planned on going out , as I work 2 of the 4 weekends a month , but i almost instantly told her " I won't be to late tonight it's cold" . So i loaded up the slicks, jack and tools then took off . What a good decision that turned out to be . They had rent the track day all day long , the sun was out , and that thing was prepped awesome in preperation for the pro mod superbowl on saturday. I bolted on the slicks and went right out and put an 11.98 @111 with 1.67 60" through mufflers ! There was no "street tire " cars out so the track stayed good till about 8 pm . The nights best was 11.95 . Learned alot firday and know i have more in the truck . looking forward to a new trans and converter .
