Hey all, i adjusted my torsion bars up the other day. It raised my front end a little, provided me with the clearance i needed for the bigger tires i put on, and it looks pretty darn cool like that. What I don't understand is the fact that i have about no travel with suspension at all. That isn't good. I need to know if there is a way to fix that so i have some front end travel, and smoother ride.

Also, I was wondering if it would behoove me to install a different rear axle in there. Have many people done it, and what are advantages and disadvantages? Also, What axles are best to use- dana, or isuzu or something else? Thanks, Nick.

Did you crank up the torsion bars to the point that they've topped out? There's bump stops at the upper a arms. If you crank to much on the bars, you'll end up with a preload on the bump stops. That's how you can tell that you've cranked too much.
This makes for a SOLID riding truck for sure.

An S-10 axle is the most popular rear axle swap for stock and mild V-8 powered trucks. 4X4 trucks are far more involved when it comes to front and rear swaps.

If you cranked the TB's you cant get a good ride because there is more stress, aint going to ride good. 8)

And being that this was almost 2 years ago when he asked, I'm sure he got it figured out by now.
