I am trying to do a front end rebuild and can't figure out how to drain the axle assembly. I see a "plug" in the middle but usually (like on the rear axle) there is a drain on the bottom and a filler plug above. Mine is an 82 diesel 4x4 by the way. I am worried that it will drain all over the garage (at my in-laws home) when I pull one of teh axle shafts. Any clues?

One of the bottom bolts that holds the third member in doubles as a drain plug. I don't recall which one it is off the top of my head, but there are only a couple of choices, try them and see what you get.
