have been thinking about this. What if your dash is all curled up on top?
I dont think this would even help my situation.
I need a cap for the top, bottom, front and sides

Here's another look at mine. I ordered it from JCWhitney, and they got it from AccuForm, or some place like that. I'm going on memory now sitting at the keyboard, and I don't feel like going outside right now to get the papers. I left them in the LUV.

Anyway it cost me about $95. I think it's enough of a fix, but only time will tell.

Mine has held up ok for the last 5 years or so. It has a faint crack from the passenger side vent along the crease towards the radio. It's not near enough of a problem to replace just yet. Concidering how bad my dash was to start with, it still looks pretty good.
A cloth cover across the dash pad to protect it would keep it from cracking for a good, long while.

The dash cap comes with a tube of adhesive. It's supposed to install over the exsisting dash top. Mine was so beat up that i had no choice but to remove the top of the dash and build a new foundation for the replacement dashtop. If you can get the original to lay flat instead of curling up along the split areas, it should work.
If you decide to remove the old dashtop and build a new foundation, i would recommened using thin sheets of cork. Cut pieces to fit, glue them in place with contact cement and then use the adhesive from the dashtop to fit the dash.

I had to cut out the existing dash along the base of the windshield. It was curled up as Meanie described. I saved a strip of the old foam and used the same clear silicone glue to attach it along the front-center of the cap for a foundation. There was also some curling up around the defroster ducts and I cut it away before the final placement of the dash cap.

That's good news!

Mine went in real good. I hope it lasts a long time.
