Hey everybody! I'm new on the forum here, but have been using this site as a reference for years. Thanks in advance for all the help you're putting out there! Here's my situation:
I have a stock 1975 LUV mikado and recently changed out the old Hitachi piece of garbage carb for a new Weber 32/36 DGEV (electronic choke) using the adapter plate and the little chrome air cleaner the carb came with. I've got it all installed with the one fuel line in and one vac line (the old fuel return line and 2nd vac line not from the dist. are plugged) I've got no problem getting the engine to turn over and start, even with a pretty responsive accelerator (in neutral), but it won't idle...period. I've adjusted the idle speed and mixture screws back and forth as per the tuning instructions but it won't make a difference. I've got power going to the electronic choke via the old wiring harness and don't know what else to do. I took off the cover of the spring where the choke is, put it back and haven't changed anything else. How do you adjust the choke and make sure the spring has the right amount of tension? I see the mark on the carb housing, but no mark on the plastic cover to reference. Any and all help/advice on this matter is greatly appreciated!!! THANKS!
