Saturday on the way to Guard drill this asshat nails me about a 1/8 mile before i turn into the Armory, 56 in a 45. i was in uniform and told him i was running late for formation. still wrote me a ticket. its bullshit that these fuckers sit out there and target troops going to drill (i wasn't the only one he got that morning)
i kinda pissed him off when he handed the ticket and i asked "Where do i send the fuckin money" he said "Well Sargent (that pissed me off even more) your court date is right there on the bottom of the ticket" to which i replied "Yeah and some of us have REAL jobs and cant afford to take a day off work to go to court for a fuckin ticket i will have to pay anyway. So where do i send the fuckin check" he said "Call that number"
i called today $97.00 !!!! $25 fine and 72 fuckin dollars court cost!!!!!!!

i hope that asshole wrecks that fuckin pretty new car

I don't want to start a war here, but you did mention that you were doing 56 in a 45. You were speeding, in or out of uniform, you were speeding. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Just a stupid question, why is he a asshat for doing his job?

I am ex-military by the way, I never got any breaks on tickets. Hell even as a reserve officer I don't get any breaks.

he is an asshat for targeting troops on the way to drill. yes i was speeding. i dont bitch about getting tickets (god knows i have had enough) and dont think i should get let off if i get caught just because im in uniform.
im bitching b/c this is how they are paying for this new car. by catching troops on the way to drill. why else would he be sitting there at 0730 on a saturday morning?

Larphead you sir are a very large asshat. So let me get this straight. You were speeding,which is dangerous and agaisnt the law. The cop pulls you over, for speeding. You give the cop additute for catching you speeding which you know is against the law. I have a suggestion even though I know you're not gonna listen cause your heads to far up your ass, DON"T SPEED IN A KNOWN SPEED TRAP!!!!! Little towns make their money off of speeding tickets. There just isn't enough income through taxes so they use the police, who generaly aren't that busy in the small towns to make some extra income. Also I doubt the town is paying for the Charger, most likely the state got it for them. So in conclusion you suck, a 97$ ticket is pretty light. THe cop isn't really the asshole, you are. I hope he gets you again.

Im not picking sides, but a ticket for 11 over is kinda picky, at least where I live it would be. We usualy get away with 13 over on open roads and around 7 over on city streets. I havent had a ticket in years but I shelled out enough for fines to make a couple months worth of squad car payments. It sucks but you never know. Someday that same asshat may be helpfull to you. Just go shoot something and cool off.

Actually cops can be just jerks, my aunt has been pulled over before for going 1mph under the speedlimit, and turning on her blinker for too long till she switched lanes...

I've had one cop let me off for going 75 in a 35 in a town, he pulled me after a guy infront of me, starts slowing down (while i'm behind him, but at a good distance away) and then slams on the brakes puts his signal on and turns off, i locked them up (cop's behind me w/ his all his lights off) and then yelled out the window at the fool, when I did half my face was lit up with blue n' white, so I pulled over and calmed myself down about the idiot, only had my lap-belt on.
"Having a good night officer?"
"yea, may I see your lisence n' registration"
"Sure"
I wipped out my DEP I.D., lisence and my regs. and gave it to him, he looked around in the inside of my car and walked to his car. I'm going nuts inside my head cause' I could get kicked outta' the navy or possibly loose a rank or something. So he came back up to the car.
"Now, I know you were going at LEAST 50 in that 35 back there, but here's your regs." See's the DEP I.D. "So your in the navy?"
"yes"
"what are you going into?"
"Nuclear tech."
"Oh, my cousin's in itellegence right now... just try and slow it down just a bit. OK?"
"Sure"
drives off... whilst in the LTD

Yes cops can be jackasses, but in this case it didn't sound like he was being an ass. It sounded like he was doing what his department ordered him to do, his job. You broke the law he caught you, you can't be mad at him for it. If you have beef with it talk to the city or the department. Cops are generally on edge because they can't know who is a good guy and who isn't. If they let their guard down once they can get killed. The best thing to do is just be incredibly polite and helpful to the officer.

I've had my share of tickets... and I've deserved quite a few of them. However, a few of those cops really got to me. Most towns will allow some cushion before they start handing out tickets. Some guys are just asses. $72 for court costs... for a court that you aren't even going to show up to - is retarded.

Yes you were speeding and yes you got a ticket for it.

And the police (you ever made the decision to set up right there) are kinda petty to target the military people going in and out of the base.

Then again.... Has speeding been a problem right there for a while? Maybe the military people have been getting a little out of control with speeding there, and that's why they wanted to catch a few and slow them all down.

I just always stay calm and let them do their job. Many times being nice and helpful get's me just a warning. Sometimes not though.

In my Job nothing pisses me off worse than some $#$%%#^ who has knowingly broken a rule, and then try's to talk his way out of being in trouble for it.

I keep reading this part of your post and have to reply to it.

If my co workers are breaking the law then I expect a officer that I pay with my tax dollars to do his job and cite them. As for the Dodge Charger, I would bet that a "police package" Crown Vicki is more expensive then a Charger off of the lot is.

You can take this for what you want, but I have some insight as to how police officers are trained and work. If your attitude does not change, you will as well, but not the way I learned. I hope he does not call your commanding officer and let him know how friendly you are.

no you guys want to here about cops bein jack ass's i was in my nissan 240sx and there was gravel on the road at a stop sign well my tires spun just slightly and when the tire hit the pavement it chirped. the cop pulled me over and gave me a wreckless driving ticket-650 dollars-criminal offence and a 300 dollar court fee w/ lawer, and i got arrested for it. this cop was a jackass from my point but for larphead he was just doing his job and our cops here in a 4000 pop town have brand new explorers

I drive fast. I get tickets. I pay tickets. Its the price of admission to the "Kirk likes to drive fast club". I don't bitch, because I know the consequences. However, some police officers are small town jerks. I dunno a solution. Don't speed?

I was just looking for an excuse to post my pic of the dog with his head in the toilet.

Having been targetted in the past because of who and what race I am (in a really small town when I was young), where I worked (in a real rowdy bar because I really needed the money), and because of my vehicle(can you say Harley?), I completely understand what you are feeling Larp.

Sitting just outside the gate waiting and targetting guys going to drill assuming they will all be speeding is called profiling....and in most states is illegal...for obvious reasons.

And you would think that after people have risked their necks for this damn country and have already been in a bind financially because of it...they would get a little more respect.

Around here...they have volunteers that set up a large electric reader board connected to a guy with a radar gun that he aims at traffic...and everyone passing by can see how fast they are going. They use this in problem areas to advise people to drive responsibly....not traps and expensive court costs.

Now before the rest of you all get your panties all in a bunch...I have met enough bad cops in my day...and have been wrote up and roughed up unjustly by a few...but I still do realize there are some good ones out there that are devoted to doing the best that they can.

Regardless Larp...getting all pissed off about it is about as pointless as a women with no nipples. You might as well just pay the ticket and just consider the source and move on.
