I think I'll have to make a trip to the junkyard, I think the part that
touches the back of the adapter is broken off.

Also I believe that the wire off the plastic ring goes through the extra hole and there is a point to where you can soder on the wre on the back of the adapater.

There should be a spring loaded button sticking out of that piece about 1/2 inch or so that rubs the ring on the bottom side of the adapter. It is not something you can really replace on its own very easy though. You pretty much have to take the whole turn signal switch assembly.

If memory serves correctly you have the other part figured out. I think that wire is just soldered to the ring on the adapter.

Yea, I think my button broke off, It was not working when I first got the truck.
Although the good news, is that once you have the wheel and the plastic column case off, there are 2 phillps screws and the whole turn singal assembly should just pop off.

Yeah it is easy to pull. Getting the wiring unplugged from the harness is harder than getting the switch loose usually.
