 Post subject: What to do?

Hey guy's :smt040 . I'm gonna do a compression test this week on my spare motor, and if it turns out good, this will be going back into my luv. If the compression is low, then I am forced to rebuild this motor. This is a brand new schucks rebuilt motor, that sat (in the truck) for 7 years in a forrest with no spark plugs in it. I am taking things apart and I am finding that the motor is real clean on the inside. who knows it could turn out as a runner. I will let you all know the results from the compression test, as this will deside the fate of my motor.

did it have a hood on it while it wa sittin? if it did just put some ATF dwon the plug holes, let it sit for a day and turn it over.
was it ran any before it was parked?

in order to do an acurate comp. test you need to get the engine warm first. Other wise it will just tell you that its making compression, not how much...

just put your ratchet on the crank and crank really really fast for about 20 minutes or so and you will be fine :lol: :lol: :lol:

I dont know about these 4 cyleders but if the starter bolts to the block just bolt up a starter and hook it up to a extra battery.


or maybe this is a dumb idea and i should stick to small block v8's.
