Hi Everybody,

I need to sell my 1982 Chevy Luv Deasil 4 x 4, but I'm not sure how much I should ask for it. It has 247,000 miles on it, pretty rusty, but I still drive it to work everyday and it gets about 30 mph. I'm certainly not a mechanic, and didn't realize I was getting such a well "LUVed" truck when I bought it. I would hate to give it away when I could get some cash for it.

Can anybody out there help?

Thanks

The truck is in Central Oregon. The interior is not great, but certainly livable. Working on pics..... thanks for the info.[/img]

Diesel trucks do add to the price. If it runs/drives and doesn't use a lot of oil I'd say you could do better than $500. Check recent sales on ebay, look for chevy luv or isuzu diesel pickups. That should give you an idea of the high end of what it could bring, though ebay stuff seems to sell higher than you can get cash for local most of the time.

I have been tryin to buy one for several months. The cheapest I have seen a 4x4 was 1,500$. The 2wd trucks are easy to find and they are rather cheaper than a 4x4 in the diesel.

I'd say your truck is at least worth $650-800 and if you happen to put it on Ebay I could see you getting that much for it pretty easily. Most of the small diesel pickups go for a good amount up for auction and I rarely see one go for less than $300-400. If your rust isn't too bad, frame is in good shape, and the paint is alright in most places you should be able to get maybe $1,000+ for it. All depends on what it looks like and if you had a picture or two I could determine its worth much better. Good luck in selling it if you still decide to. I might have been interested if it weren't for the fact that you're located on the other side of the U.S.

I've kept a running archive of eBay sales of LUVs and Isuzu P'ups (mostly diesel) in my photo gallery. There may be something there that's close to what you're selling.
